At the 7th International Symposium on Model-Based Safety and Assessment (IMBSA 2020), apl. Prof. Dr. habil .Mario Trapp, Executive Director of Fraunhofer IKS, will be present with a keynote. In his talk »Why models really matter for safety assurance«, he shows the versatility of models in a safety assurance process and illustrates different application scenarios from modular safety assurance to analyzing functional insufficiencies to SafeDevOps to dynamic safety management at runtime. To this end, it introduces exemplary solutions available in the state of the art and gives some examples on the benefit in the practical application.
In addition, Iwo Kurzidem, Research Engineer at Fraunhofer IKS, will present his new paper »A Systematic Approach to Analyzing Perception Architectures in Autonomous Vehicles« . Within the paper, he and his colleagues Ahmad Saad and Philipp Schleiss describe an approach that evaluates signal propagation in logical system architectures, in particular environment perception-chains, focusing on effects of uncertainty to determine functional limitations.
