Rapid digital transformation is occurring in all fields, including communication, transportation, leisure activities and industrial automation. The way we work tomorrow will be shaped by interaction, which is a key component of this transformation: interaction with coworkers, computers, control systems and machinery. This human-system interaction is the subject of the "Beyond Safety. Forum @SICK" in cooperation with Fraunhofer IKS.

On 11th October 2022, the very first public day of »Beyond Safety. Forum @SICK« will be held at SICK’s new SIA Campus in Waldkirch-Buchholz and online via Webex. Experts from different fields could seize the chance to discuss opportunities and challenges and emerging topics within industrial automation and safety.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Mario Trapp, Director of Fraunhofer IKS, will give a talk on »Safety challenges by Cognitive Systems«. He will discuss present and future problems that go beyond current safety assurance and describes current research strategies to solve these problems. In order to achieve this, strategies that are about to be implemented practically and some crucial paradigm adjustments for safety assurance will also be highlighted.
