Meet Fraunhofer IKS at all about automation in Straubing (June 10–11, 2026)!

all about automation brings together regional users and decision-makers with manufacturers of automation components and systems, robotics solution providers, integrators, software vendors, service providers, and distributors. In direct exchange, suppliers and users shape the path toward flexible automation and smart production.

Fraunhofer IKS at all about automation

We look forward to welcoming you at Stand M-420 in the Josef-von-Fraunhofer-Halle.

We will show you how to take your production to the next level — with solutions that

  • increase the resilience and flexibility of your manufacturing,
  • improve human-machine collaboration, and
  • integrate AI without compromising safety.

At all about automation, we will be presenting three selected research approaches:

  • AS-PHALT, our LLM-powered hazard analysis tool:
Leverage the power of AI-driven large language models (LLMs) in hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA)  for greater resource efficiency and more reliable safety evaluations.
  • LLM-based support for fault resolution:
Our LLM-based troubleshooting assistant provides an intuitive, natural-language interface, enabling your staff to focus on solving the problem at hand. By combining expert knowledge with live and historical data, the assistant delivers precise, context-aware insights in real time  keeping you informed of system states, potential causes, and next steps at all times.
  • AI-assisted code generation for IEC 61131-3:
Can LLMs reliably and safely generate industrial control applications? As part of a funded research project, Fraunhofer IKS is developing methods to evaluate and optimize AI-generated control software.

Talk: Trustworthiness of Large Language Models

Fraunhofer IKS will also be presenting at the conference program:

Michael Stiller will speak on "Trustworthiness of Large Language Models in Industrial Automation", examining LLM reliability in theory and practice through three examples:

  • Code generation for PLCs
  • HARA assistant for functional safety analysis and assessment of machinery
  • Support for fault resolution during live operations

Wednesday, June 10, 2026 — 10:50–11:10 a.m.

We look forward to meeting you!
